STOREAGE
LITO’s first immersive store reframes a smart bed showroom as a quiet gallery. In place of conventional retail cues, the space adopts a distraction-free, gallery-like retail approach that centers the visit on a single sensation: deep, comfortable sleep. Visitors enter an architectural metaphor of an oversized blanket and pillow, where softness is scaled up into walls and ceiling through inflated surfaces.
A custom pillow-like tile system defines the envelope. Developed through controlled cloth simulation in SketchUp with the ClothWorks plug-in, each tile was shaped and frozen at a precise moment to achieve the desired volume. The geometry was refined through iterative prototyping, calibrating depth, softness, and proportion before the system was finalized. Glass fiber–reinforced concrete (GFRC) was specified to meet fire requirements, ensure durability, and support easy, seamless installation, resulting in a surface that reads delicate and soft while remaining structurally solid.
The project was later featured on Designboom (2024).
